JAPANESE MARKET.......

TOKYO: Internet pioneer, Spyglass, and Mitsui & Co. announced today that they had signed a reseller agreement for Mitsui to sell the Spyglass Prism content delivery and transformation platform in the Japanese market. In a separate statement, Spyglass said it had set up a wholly-owned subsidiary in Tokyo.

MASSACHUSETTS: Ionics said today it had received a contract valued in excess of $USM9 from STMicroelectronics to design, construct and commission an advanced ultrapure water plant for its new semiconductor facility in Singapore.

HANNOVER: A Motorola press statement said the company was "putting the WOW into WAP" (Wireless Application Protocol) by announcing the extension of its WAP-enabled phone portfolio to six models, including a world first. It was part of the company's strategy "to deliver a world without wires, putting the internet in your pocket."

WIRELESS SERVICES.......

DALLAS: InterVoice Brite announced today it would demonstrate speech-enabled wireless internet services at CTIA Wireless 2000 in New Orleans from February 28 to March 1. The demonstration would include WAP-based unified messaging, conferencing, location-based service, and stock transaction service.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.......

HANNOVER: MATERNA Information & Communications said today at the CeBIT trade show in Germany it would be "focusing on the information technology-related subjects of e-commerce, customer relationship management and systems management." DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS.......

VIRGINIA: VIDAR Systems Corporation and Vivid Image Technologies announced today the establishment of an OEM agreement for VIDAR's sales channels to have the exclusive distribution rights to Vivid Image's scan-to-print controllers in North and South America. The companies' combined technology would generate quick and economical high-quality, large format colour prints.

DIVIDEND DECLARED.......

TORONTO: A press statement from Toronto Dominion Bank announced today that a dividend at the rate of 21 cents a fully paid common share in capital stock had been declared for the quarter ending April 30.
